Soltech Systems, a UK leader in blinds and shading systems, has achieved the prestigious Social Value Quality Mark award.
It joins a growing number of organisations in the UK that are creating social value as a result of how they choose to operate their businesses.
As a mandatory requirement for central government contracts, businesses seeking to win tender work must set out how they will deliver on the Government’s social value priorities, and being awarded the Social Value Quality Mark award is an effective way of doing this.
Social value is a key and growing evaluation criterion (minimum of 10% of the overall score) within the assessment of all contracts.
The Social Value Quality Mark can be used by all public sector organisations to make it easier to evaluate a provider’s contribution to social value.
Guy Simmonds, Managing Director at Soltech Systems, said: “Achieving the Social Value Quality Mark award recognises Soltech’s outstanding commitment to independently measure and report on the value we deliver for society.”
Guy added: “The Social Value Quality Mark now provides our customers with a strong message that we are committed to being a leader in the blinds and shading sector by operating to the highest social and ethical standards. Achieving the Quality Mark will make it much easier for public sector organisations to evaluate and choose their blinds, curtains, control systems and associated window treatment partner.”
To gain the Quality Mark, Soltech had to provide evidence that demonstrated the positive impact its operations have across a range of measures. These included reductions in carbon footprint and recycling, encouraging and developing young people through apprenticeship and training as well as the contribution it makes to the UK economy and investment.
A range of other measures required evidence of how Soltech Systems show ethical decision-making and best practice in its supply chain management.
In order to gain the Quality Mark, a thorough, independent audit is carried out to assess these and other criteria.
Soltech, which continues to manufacture in Milton Keynes and remains a valued part of the local economy, provides a comprehensive supply and installation service that has a reputation as the best in the industry. All project partners need to have the confidence that they will be completed right, first time, and Soltech is the trusted brand for doing this.
Soltech has an ongoing investment programme and has seen continued demand for its products in core commercial markets. The business is now looking to expand its presence in other market sectors as part of progress its ambitious growth plans.
Recent project wins for the business include automated blinds for the new BBC headquarters in Cardiff and a number of prestigious retail stores in central London.
