About the Project
Soltech are proud to have worked on several floors within the ‘Walkie Talkie’, one of the most striking buildings on London’s skyline. The distinctive slope and curvature of the facades means that a careful and considered approach is required for the blind installation. Zip blinds are utilised to ensure that the fabric can travel down the angle of the building and follow the plane of the glazing. Aluminium fixing plates are used for the full height of the mullions to provide square fixing grounds, whilst allowing the curtain walling movement gap to function as designed behind the blind. Bespoke blind pocket and fixing straps complete the offering. This solution provides a basis for fitting both manual and motorised blinds, including the installation of blind controls and cabling in Meeting Rooms.
